Coffee Chat – Wild by Cheryl Strayed + BLK MRKT Coffee

If you love coffee + good books keep on reading.

My previous coffee chats used to be me talking about various topics while highlighting a local Michigan coffee shop. I absolutely love going to coffee shops and right now, we all have to stay home.

BUT you can definitely still support your favorite local business and with that I will be featuring a Michigan coffee shop each week! Go check them out and help support them during this time! (To note: support doesn’t always mean financial support. Liking an instagram post, sharing on your story, telling someone else who loves coffee are also great ways to support small business).

I absolutely love their MRKT Blend. It is one of my absolute favorite medium blend coffees. With the variety of flavors, it’s a staple morning coffee.

Wild By Cheryl Strayed

This is an incredible story of development, growth, and acceptance. At 26 years old Strayed hikes over 1,000 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) in 1995. Fresh from a divorce, a death, and drug use, Strayed turns to solitude and nature. She is one of the few solo women on the trail, and tackles this feat head on.

One aspect I loved about this book was it was not just about hiking and nature. As much as I absolutely love those kinds of books, this brought a fresh perspective of what we can get out of nature and hiking, not just what we are experiencing in the moment. Strayed discussed how much this journey led her to learn about herself, going through loss, love, and more.

I don’t want to give much more away, but this is a wonderful and riveting read for anyone in their 20-somethings learning more about themselves and adulthood.
