Let’s Go on a Hike! Ep. 10 – VASA Trail

Welcome to Let’s Go on a Hike! Here I’ll have weekly reviews on hikes throughout Michigan (and maybe beyond). Questions like: Can I trail run this path? How much parking is available? How difficult is this trail? and many more will be answered!

The Basics

VASA Trail has a series of loops including a 3K, 5K, 10K, and 25K. This was my first trail run, what a better time then to run in 6 inches of snow. The trail is very well groomed, nice and wide, very hilly, making this 5K challenging but worth it.

The trail head is located at 4450 Bartlett Rd Williamsburg, MI 49690.

The trail is mainly in a forest. Parking available right at the trail head. The trail is wide enough for 3 people, sometimes 4. Dogs are allowed (as long as they are leashed). There is an no entrance fee.

The Highlights

Actual bathrooms are located at the trailhead.

Good signage along the trail, very well groomed even with lots of snow.

The Warnings

Pretty significant elevation change.

Parking was limited the day we were there, though it was a race day.
