NCT 100 Mile Challenge Hike #2

Welcome to my North Country Trail 100 mile Challenge! Here I’ll be documenting my journey on hiking 100 miles of the NCT.

The North Country Trail is the nations longest scenic trail at 4,600 miles. It runs through 8 states: North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan (both peninsulas), Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and Vermont. You can learn more about the trail here.

Hike #2

Jordan River Valley

IMG_5673.JPG

This trail walked along the Jordan River, and through the state forest.

We hiked 8.8 miles starting at Deadman’s Hill, and hiking south to the Jordan River Fish Hatchery, we then walked along the Jordan River Road (a two-track that walks right along the Jordan River, by far the absolute more GORGEOUS part of our hike). Then jumped back on the trail and hiked north back to Deadman’s Hill.

Many people on AllTrails mentioned to go the opposite way we went as it led to not having to climb Deadman’s Hill, which I can completely understand why they said this. It was a tough trek up, but did feel incredibly rewarding!
