1. Boardman River Trail, Trail 2 & 3 (1.3 miles) January 1, 2020 | With my sister, Caroline

Memories: walking along the boardwalks in the snow was so cool

2. Pyramid Point Trail (1 mile) January 2, 2020 | With my sister, Caroline

Memories: being super tired because we went at sunrise, but in awe of the beauty

3. Munising Falls Trail (0.58 miles) January 18, 2020 | With my Dad and David

Memories: rough drive up (in the middle of a winter storm), but everything was freshly snow covered and gorgeous

4. Eben Ice Caves and Rock Canyon Falls (3.37 miles) January 19, 2020 | With Dad and David

Memories: the craziest coolest winter hike yet, jumping over creeks, climbing super steep hills, walking on ice (shoutout to dad for the ice spikes!!)

5. Sugarloaf Mountain (1.21 miles) January 19, 2020 | With Dad and David

Memories: sliding down the snowy stairs at lighting speed, having to park on the side of the road because the parking lot was a snowy mess, beer hike

6. Sleeping Bear Dunes Heritage Trail (1.2 miles) February 8, 2020 | With David

Memories: this was a candle lit, night hike put on by the Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes and the National Park, super cool!

7. Boardman River Trail #2 (0.75 miles) February 9, 2020 | By myself

Memories: snowstorm started, love hiking next to the river and hearing the rapids

8. Snowshoe Point Oneida Rural Historic District (1.5 miles) February 15, 2020 | Ranger Led Hike with my dad, sister, and David

Memories: snowshoeing is slightly harder than I thought, also I love the term bushwhacking.

9. Pyramid Point (1 mile) | With Heather

Memories: super icy, but sunny and gorgeous

10. Clay Cliffs Natural Area (1.4 miles) | With Heather

Memories: one of my favorite overlooks onto the Manitou Islands

11. Snowshoe Blackstar Farms (1.05 miles) | With Heather

Memories: Heather falling in snowshoes and realizing how hard it is to get back up, so cool to snowshoe through a winery

12. Whaleback Natural Area (1 miles) | With David, Jenn, and Jack

Memories: an icy trail, but still tons of fun with friends

13. Elberta Dunes South (1.3 miles) | With David

Memories: David flying down a sand dunes and dancing around the trail, incredible views of Frankfort lighthouse. Lake Michigan was looking gorgeous today with lots of waves

14. Green Point Natural Area (1.51 miles) | With David

Memories: Two really nice lookouts, both Dave and I realizing we’re out of shape since this hike had 325ft of elevation gain.

Memories: more COVID-19 mess, couldn’t believe we’ve never hiked this trail before there was a gorgeous view of Sleeping Bear Point.

Memories: found it just while driving, nice little forested hike with minimal elevation change

Memories: Ice fishing dude catching a fish but not being able to actually get it

Memories: sliding down a gigantic hill, mud slides, falling, scrapping hands, Caroline’s shoes getting super muddy, Dave (of course) having no problem getting down the hill

Memories: another one that we couldn’t believe we hadn’t hiked before! Gorgeous!

Memories: laying on our picnic blanket, enjoying delicious homemade potato soup, the sun shinning so brightly, with the waves crashing, Frankfort lighthouse in view. One of the best moments, ever.

Memories: a long hike but one of the coolest in our area! We especially loved walking down a back road along the Jordan River. It was sunny and blue skies, the water was sparkling.

Memories: a chillier spring hike but an easy 4 miles. We creepily saw two deer legs about a mile and a half apart from each other.

Memories: sitting in our hammocks, gazing at the falls while eating a snack. This was by far one of my top hikes of 2020. This hike was one of the coolest I’ve ever done and it was so special being there with my dad. Also the 4miles of backroad driving was a little stressful but a hilarious story now
