“M22 Microadventures” Winter Edition – Lighthouse Tour

Is Northern Michigan just for the summertime? Heck no! There is still so much to see and do while the area is coated in a blanket of snow. Stay tuned while I complete more M22 Microadventures this winter, courtesy of The M22 Store’s book “M22 Microadventures”. Purchase the book here!

For this M22 Microadventure, I did the Drive Lighthouse Tour.

Frankfort Lighthouse

Frankfort Lighthouse

This microadventure is predicted to take about a 1/2 a day. It involves over 75 miles of driving and you’ll see four Michigan lighthouses. You can either start at the tippy top of Leelanau Peninsula at the Grand Traverse Lighthouse and travel down M22 to Frankfort or vice versa. Along the way you’ll see the Manning Memorial Lighthouse in Empire and Point Bestie Lighthouse in Frankfort.

Lighthouses can be viewed anytime of the year! I think there is something very unique and special to visiting a place in different seasons, especially in a place like Michigan where each season can vary so greatly! You can experience new views, different terrain, and a whole new feeling visiting places throughout the year.

Side note: both Grand Traverse Lighthouse and Point Bestie Lighthouse can be climbed in the spring, summer and fall months!
