Car-Camping Top Rated Outdoor Gear Gift Guide

Coleman Dark Tent

We have used the 12-person Coleman Dark Tent for over 3 years now and it is for sure in our top rated camping gear for car camping. Not only does it keep the light from blasting in your tent at 6AM, but it also helps in keeping the tent cool in those hot summer months! Coleman has numerous styles and sizes of their dark-technology tents, from 4-person, 6-person, etc. etc.

Eureka Stove

This is hands down one of my top rate camping gear. I’ve recommended it to so many friends, and they love it too! It’s slim enough to fit in a tote with other camping gear, big enough to have two pots or pans cooking. I love the self ignite (for those times I forget matches). Not to mention, the pale avocado color is the perfect retro feel for camping.

REI Collapsible Chair

These chairs are 100% worth the money. Don’t be fooled by the lightweight and compact design these chairs are still SO comfortable. I try to just keep mine in my car at all times so I have it on hand! It’s also the perfect addition to the glamping backpacker if you’re willing to carry the extra weight.

Backpacking Top Rated Outdoor Gear Gift Guide

Nemo Disco Sleeping Bag

This was one of my first BIG backpacking purchases and boy, was this worth it! Definitely ranking as one of my top rated camping gear for backpacking, the Nemo Disco Sleeping Bag is perfect for a side sleeper like me! Unlike the typical “mummy” shape for backpacking bags, the Nemo Disco takes on a “spoon” shape, perfect for people carrying more weight in the butt and hips area, as well as side sleepers! I don’t feel claustrophobic in this bag at all and it’s kept me comfortably warm at 25 degrees Fahrenheit

Sawyer Squeeze

This is another one of my favorite, and obviously top rated camping gear items for backpacking. At a totally affordable price, the Sawyer Squeeze is what you need for water filtration on the trail. In a full size, and mini, they are both great options depending on the size trip you’re embarking on!

Hiking Top Rated Outdoor Gear Gift Guide

Darn tough socks

Your must have hiking sock! I have found a lot hiking socks I like, this is the first hiking sock I love! I also have one pair of their skiing socks and it’s a must-have every time I’m on the slopes.

Scrubba Wash Bag

This perfect for any traveler, but especially those recreating outdoors. It can be difficult to be able to properly and conveniently wash cloths, but the Scrubba Wash bag makes that task so easy! The fact that the bag also doubles as a dry bag makes this item so worth it because every backpacker and paddler knows that space is limited so when items are multi-purpose it’s all the better!

Salomon Hydration Vest

This hydration vest is one of the absolute best gifts I’ve received. From it’s lightweight and compact design, to the fit and comfort while running, this is a must for every runner. The vest comes with two bladder-like bottles that fit in the front vest pockets. There are still 3 other front pockets, with 1 zip pocket that can be accessed from the front. There is also a zip pack on the back of the vest that can hold an X-L bladder, or hold additional gear/keys/snacks that you may need! If you’re looking at any gifts for the trail runner in your life this should be #1!
