Happy Fall! Who doesn’t love color change and waterfalls! Here I’ll tell you about 4 waterfalls you can hit all in one day in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula!
Stop #1 – Munising Falls
Munising Falls is on Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore’s western most edge. A short 0.25 mile hike to get to this falls, with 3 different viewing platforms!
This is also the location for one of the visitor centers!
Stop #2 – Miners falls
These falls looked the biggest to me, unfortunately this one had only 2 viewing platforms and they were both quite small. Roundtrip this hike is 1.2 miles. Parking is limited at this trailhead as well!
Stop #3 – Chapel falls
This is going to be your longest hike, 1.2 miles out and 1.2 miles back, but well worth it for these gorgeous views! Chapel Falls, has many different view points. First starting out looking at the side of the falls, then, if you’re careful you can hike down and look directly over the falls. A short walk around the falls leads you to another wooden viewing platform with a spectacular head-on view of the falls.
Parking is also very limited at this trailhead.
Stop #4 – sable falls
Now all the way down on the eastern most edge of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Sable Falls is a short 0.5 mile round trip hike to see some gorgeous falls and river views. Keep in mind heading down to the falls is 168 steps down! But well worth the trek!
You can continue this hike all the way to Lake Superior for a 1 mile round trip hike!
